About ex nihilo

If this blog is called Ex nihilo, it’s not because it promises the formation of great intellectual creations out of the nothingness. Instead, it promises an amazing infinite conversation on how various tropes and figures of thought often, on closer inspection, turn out to be nothing more than speech bubbles filled with peculiarity — since:

The longer you look at a word, the stranger it looks back. (Karl Kraus)

With that in mind, this blog is a place for skeptics not content with hasty judgments but who want to really understand what’s at the bottom of things. For this reason, no Schematics of Ideology, Program, or Agenda are served or hidden under the table here.

If this space is about something, then it is about the Presence of Mind, it is a space about understanding this complex present we live in, which is entangled in all kinds of paradoxes (fair is foul and foul is fair).

Über Ex nihilo

Wenn dieser Blog Ex nihilo heißt, so nicht, weil er die große Geistschöpfung aus dem Nichts verheißt. Eher verspricht er ein andauerndes Sich-Verwundern über Gedankenfiguren, die sich, beim genaueren Hinschaut, als Sprechblasen entpuppen – denn:

Je länger man ein Wort anschaut, desto fremder schaut es zurück. (Karl Kraus)

In diesem Sinn ist dieser Blog ein Ort für Skeptiker, die sich nicht mit vorschnellen Urteilen begnügen, sondern den Dingen auf den Grund gehen wollen. Schon aus diesem Grund wird hier keine Ideologie, kein Programm, keine Agenda serviert.

Wenn es um etwas geht, dann um Geistesgegenwart, darum, diese komplexe Gegenwart, die sich in allerlei Paradoxien verstrickt (fair is foul and foul is fair), überhaupt zu verstehen.
